I’m a content developer and writer living in Victoria, BC. Got writing that needs written? Drop me a line!
Hi, I’m Sarah. And I’m a writer.
Originally from Edmonton, I moved to Vancouver Island in 2016 to start my master’s in creative writing at the University of Victoria. Like most people from Edmonton, I love hockey and hate road construction–two things there’s not a heck of a lot of in this town (which is fine).
I write short fiction, memoir, and bad poetry on my own time. For my day jobs, I’ve developed content for dozens of websites, written countless brochures, created ads, brands, and social media posts, and made anything else word-related you can probably imagine (and even some stuff you can’t). My creative work has been published online in funicular magazine (where my short story was the most read story in 2018), Agnes & True, and The San Joaquin Review and in print in The Pinch.
In 2017, I was shortlisted for Room magazine’s CNF contest for “Negative Gynecology.” In 2020, I won second place in Room‘s CNF contest for “natural disaster” (that shows continuous improvement and growth!). Before that a very short story I wrote about puberty and junior high was censored from school cafeteria’s in southern Alberta.
If you’ll have me, I’d love to apply my creativity and content strategy to writing for you.
What I can do for you:
This is where I plan, manage, & develop content for you & your site.
I’ll write posts, schedule posts, & create a calendar (if that’s what you’re into).
Proofreading & Copyediting
Let me be your editorial eyes. I’ll catch the mistakes before it goes to print.
Allow me to research & select keywords, write meta-descriptions, & titles.
